Taught AI CPD Programme Is Now Accredited

By Ben | Taught AI

Last week was a pretty special.

I'm very proud to say that the AI CPD programme I've spent the last few months developing has now been formally accredited, giving participants 18 CPD points on completion.

And ever better than that, I had the opportunity to deliver the programme in full at the Wandsworth Professional Development Centre to 15 colleagues from five different schools.

The group included Headteachers, Deputy Heads, a Head of School, subject leaders and classroom teachers.

The Feedback

The part I'm most proud of isn't the accreditation.

It's what people took away from it.

Across the group:

  • The average estimated workload saving was more than 5 hours every week.

  • 87% said they now feel more confident understanding GDPR and safeguarding when using AI.

  • 100% said they feel more confident using AI safely to build their own tools and solve problems within school.

For school leaders, the figures were even more encouraging.

  • 60% of Heads and Deputy Heads estimated saving more than 9 hours each week.

  • 80% estimated saving 6 hours or more.

And most importantly:

  • 100% of attendees said they would recommend the programme to colleagues.

An investment worth making

The programme costs £295 per person. £50 per session.

If you're a Teaching Assistant earning around £10 an hour, the course pays for itself by the end of the six weeks.

For a London based ECT, 5 hours per week saved across a year is an ROI of 1,600%.

For an Inner London Assistant Headteacher the ROI is upward of 6,400%.

I know from my career how rare it is to do a course which has the potential to offer such a valuable return. Time.

It's time where teachers can think about the kids in their classroom.

Leaders can support their schools.

Staff can have time with their families at the weekend.

The course

There are plenty of AI courses out there that seem to have been made on the tech side of the coin.

I have tried to build something from the school side of things, that helps staff use AI safely, confidently, and in a way that genuinely reduces workload without compromising safeguarding, professional judgement or school values.
